TEMPO APPAREL - BENEFITING THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST

TEMPO is a global running media brand with our roots proudly in Melbourne, Australia. It was only a few months ago, as bushfires raged through our country, that people all around the world came to our aid.

Running friends from everywhere reached out and asked what they could do. Many donated. The running communities in NYC and LA raised money on a bigger scale, benefiting displaced Australians and the wildlife organizations that do such important work.

Given TEMPO’s strong connection to the US, and particularly to LA and NY, we can’t sit around now and do nothing while these communities are hurting. Andy, our Creative Director and Co-Founder, and myself were in NY and LA in early March, and like every time we visit these cities, we were welcomed with open arms.

I work day in, day out with runners, writers, and photographers in the US. I’ve heard firsthand how scary it is for some people living and working in NY right now - imagine being the primary carer for a parent or grandparent in a high risk category, wondering everytime you leave the house if you’re going to unknowingly come home with COVID-19 and risk passing it on to a loved one.

So here at TEMPO, we have to do what we can to help these communities get back on their feet.

We’re proud today to launch our benefit apparel. The first ever apparel offered for sale by TEMPO, with all profits being split between charities in New York and Los Angeles. In LA, we’ll be donating to Keck Medicine of USC, as their staff (several of whom are active in the LA running community) work on the frontlines testing and treating coronavirus patients. In New York City, we’ll be supporting Food Bank NYC.

Because it's coming into winter in Australia, we'll be releasing a hoodie as well as a long sleeve tee.

We’ve teamed up with one of New York’s incredible photographers, Jason Suarez for our screen printed Photo Tee featuring the Empire State Building - Jason shoots for us regularly and is a fiercely proud New Yorker (get in the DM's with your pizza rec's and he will tear you apart).

Our screen printed Bib Tee comes from Creative Director Andy Sargent, “We wanted to create something to symbolise the unity of the global running community. We're all missing running, together. We're all missing racing, together. We’re all behind our front line workers, who are racing to the save lives of so many."

SHIPPING

To eliminate any wastage, we’re selling these as a pre-order until Sunday 17th May, Australian Eastern Standard Time. From there, production will take around 1 week and products will then be shipped. All orders will ship with Australia Post, and you’ll be provided tracking details when your order has shipped. Given the issues with global logistics right now, if you’re in a far corner of the world and you need the TEMPO tee for an upcoming wedding, I urge you to have a back up. Shipping times are blowing out everywhere right now.
