Flip the Script

I’ll be honest. I had low expectations for the Prefontaine Classic, the annual meet held in Eugene, Oregon. Even if it was, for the first time, doubling as the Diamond League final. Because, look, it’s 17 September, a month after Worlds, and these athletes have been racing for a long time.

But man, I was wrong.

Pre was an absolutely electric finale to an epic year of track and field. National records falling left and right, some athletes flipping the script from Worlds (men’s and women’s 100m, the women’s 800m, Jakob being Jakob, a 14:00 women’s 5000m world record?!)

All that to say, next year is going to be amazing. For now, enjoy the scenes below and let’s get ready for marathon season.
