A record-breaking return to international racing

The first Melbourne Marathon with international competitors in the field since 2019 was held on Sunday. Timothy Kiplagat Ronoh broke the course record with 02:09:12 and fellow Kenyan Beatrice Cheptoo won the women’s race in 02:27:58. Jack Rayner and Jessica Stenson took out the half marathons in 1:02:16 and 1:12:22 respectively.
