Two Ethiopians claim victories on the streets of Boston
On the Saturday before the Boston Marathon, the Boston Athletic Association hosts a series of smaller races for elites and fun-runners alike, including a mile and a 5k.
The 5k is typically one of the fastest 5k races in the nation and draws a solid line up of elites. On the amateur side, the field is capped at 10,000, allowing those who want to support the Boston running community a chance to do so, without having to commit to a marathon.

After around 3km, the runners made their way back up Boylston Street and through the famous finishing straight of the Boston Marathon.
As race leader Ethiopian Hagos Gebrhiwet came into the final corner, he led defending champ Ben True.
However, as the lead motorcycle pulled off the course, Gebrhiwet started to follow it, overshooting the corner and allowing True to take the lead with less than 300m to go.
Despite the error, Gebrhiwet managed to overtake True in the final sprint to claim the win in 13:40.
In the women's race, Ethiopian Buze Diriba defended her title, running a 15:22 to beat another Ethiopian, Fotyen Tesfay.
