As seen through the lens of David Bracetty
The Millrose Games are the biggest indoor event on the U.S. calendar, with high schoolers getting to mix it with collegiate athletes and pro’s at The Armory in New York.
This years event featured no less than 52 Olympians, 7 Olympic Champions, and 7 World Champions. It’s a big deal.
The marquee event of the meet is always the mile. In the men’s, Brit Chris O’Hare clocked a 3:54:14 to take the win, while in the women’s it was a 1-2 for Bowerman Track Club with Colleen Quigley barely edging teammate Kate Grace.
The 300m events were also a highlight, in the women’s it was Aisha Praught-Leer nailing an 8:41:10 to defeat Olympic gold medallist Emma Coburn. Another notable performance was that of rising college star Karissa Schweizer, posting an 8:41.60.
We sent David Bracetty along to the meet to capture all the action in the way only he can, with an eye for the raw grit and emotion of high pressure meets.
