3000m, sprints, Women’s 800m

The 117th Millrose Games brought us peak racing. Yes we got a slew of world records, national records, personal bests, and facility records, but that was because of the quality of the racing vs any manufactured time trials. And that racing brought the energy – the crowd, which very literally seems to be on top of the track, rose to the occasion, erupting as moves and history were made. The fans love it, the sport needs it, Millrose is peak track.

In the men’s 3000m, Grant Fisher smashed the world record in a time of 7:22.91, surpassing Lamecha Girma’s 2023 time of 7:23.81. Fisher out kicked Cole Hocker, whose time of 7:23.14 was also under the previous world record. Australian Ky Robinson erased Cameron Myers’ week-old national record with a time of 7:30.38.

We'll cover the Wanamaker Mile in Part 2 of this gallery.
