The publication

Archetype

Archetype is a publisher, production studio and media network based in Melbourne. We make things that matter to people. Acclaim Magazine brings the latest in street culture and hip-hop; Tempo supports and shapes running culture; Complex AU reports on pop culture, style and sports; and The Weekly Drop keeps sneakerheads in the freshest kicks. Our broader advertising network boasts internet-crushing entities like Bleacher Report, Complex USA and the Hearst international network. Collectively, we have 6 million monthly unique visitors, 20 million monthly video views and 1 million local social media followers.

  • Brief and coordinate with designers, photographers, writers, videographers and athletes
  • Edit and proofread stories and editorial pieces
  • Review and approve assets (photography, video, design) produced prior to publication
  • Work with the Archetype team to pitch and manage client-funded projects and branded content deliverables

  • Provide input into and monitor against Tempo’s monthly and annual budget
  • Be able to meet specified deadlines and deliver within agreed costs

Role requirements

  • Experience in a similar editorial management role
  • Creative thinking and clear skills
  • Great organisational skills
  • The ability to manage multiple content platforms alongside social media channels and accounts (particularly Facebook, Instagram and Twitter)
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities
  • Engagement with evolving social media best practices
